Opposed a bill known in the 118th Congress as H.R. 6408, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to terminate the tax-exempt status of terrorist supporting organizations, which would allow political appointees to baselessly accuse civil society organizations of supporting terrorism and revoke tax-exempt status without due process, an abusable power that chills First Amendment activities. Opposed H.R. 8314, the No Foreign Election Interference Act, an overbroad bill that would create chilling effects on First Amendment activities without effectively preventing foreign interference in elections. Opposed efforts by the Treasury Department to undermine clean energy tax incentives implementation. Opposed regulatory action to exempt houses of worship and religious organizations from the Johnson Amendments restrictions on 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
