The revolving door

Registered lobbyists must disclose when they previously held a "covered" government position (2 U.S.C. 1603). We flag the ones whose disclosure says they served AS a member of Congress, and link those still in our roster to their record. Filings also name 3,307 covered officials in total, most of them former congressional or executive-branch staff. Lobbying is legal, disclosed activity.
