Advocating for the inclusion of MFTs in the professional degree graduate student loan borrowing limits created by H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Outreach to Congress and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to advocate for the interests of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists as providers within the Medicare program. Advocating for the passage of the Mental Health Access and Provider Support Act (S.4202/ H.R.8081), legislation that would increase the Medicare reimbursement rates for marriage and family therapists.
Improving the hiring and retention of licensed marriage and family therapists to serve as providers in facilities operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by advocating for legislation to allow the hiring of additional licensed marriage and family therapists as supervisors in VA facilities (H.R. 658).
Advocating for the continuation of funding for the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program for FY 2027. Appropriations for HHS, Labor and Education for FY 2027 (H.R 9260).
