Education

Increase non-visual access to technology and instructional material used in K-12 and post-secondary education.

Retirement

Remove the earnings cliff for Social Security Disability Insurance recipients and replace it with a two-for-one phaseout. Blind Americans Return to Work Act. H.R. 1175. Eliminate the five-month waiting period associated with Social Security Disability Insurance.

Eliminate authorization to pay sub-minimum wages to people with disabilities by repealing Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Protecting business opportunities for blind licensed vendors under the Randolph-Sheppard Act--Rest area commercialization would result in a loss of employment opportunities for blind vendors.

Taxation/Internal Revenue Code

Expanding opportunities for blind people to purchase access technology through the establishment of a refundable tax credit. Access Technology Affordability Act, H.R. 1529 and S. 1918.

Working to ensure that fully autonomous vehicles are non-visually accessible to blind Americans. Protect the right of blind people to travel with service animals on airlines.
