Discussions with / outreach to (and/or preparation for such outreach) Congressional offices and HHS officials re: potential avenues to increase GLP-1 access as a method of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and other potential strategies for increasing innovation and the development of improved addiction medicines; FDA reforms including modernized endpoints for SUD; potential legislation to create a SUD PRV to increase development of and access to new SUD medicines; support for the FDA Commissioners national PRV and related pathways; support for NIH high-impact clinical trials evaluating repuposed off-patent therapeutics and widely used supplements with potential CMMI involvement; support for White House and CMMI exploration of non-opioid acute pain therapeutics. Related language requests in FY27 L-HHS and Ag-FDA appropriations. Related potential legislation (discussions particularly with Rep. Cline, Auchincloss, and Harder).
Support for HR7840 (Event Contract Enforcement Act) addressing event contracts on war, etc. (recognizing such activity as gambling, a common addictive activity).
