Education

Increase non-visual access to technology and instructional material used in K-12 and post-secondary education.

Labor Issues/Antitrust/Workplace

Eliminate authorization to pay sub-minimum wages to people with disabilities by repealing Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act. S. 2438 and H.R. 4771. Protecting business opportunities for blind licensed vendors under the Randolph-Sheppard Act--Rest area commercialization and the proposed Department of Army waiver would result in a loss of employment opportunities for blind vendors.

Taxation/Internal Revenue Code

Expanding opportunities for blind people to purchase access technology through the establishment of a refundable tax credit. Access Technology Affordability Act, H.R. 1529 and S. 1918.

Transportation

Working to ensure that fully autonomous vehicles are non-visually accessible to blind Americans. Protect the right of blind people to travel with service animals on airlines.

Health Issues

To ensure that home-based medical devices are non-visually accessible to blind Americans. Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act, H.R. 5605. Make Medicare telehealth expansion permanent, CONNECT for Health Act, H.R. 4206 and S. 1261.

Computer Industry

To ensure that websites and software applications are non-visually accessible. Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act, H.R. 3417.

Retirement

Remove the earnings cliff for Social Security Disability Insurance recipients and replace it with a two-for-one phaseout. Blind Americans Return to Work Act. H.R. 1175. Eliminate the five-month waiting period associated with Social Security Disability Insurance.

Natural Resources

To designate the National Federation of the Blind Museum of the Blind People's Movement as the National Museum of the Blind People's Movement. National Museum of the Blind People's Movement Act, H.R. 6467, S. 3371.
