H.R. 1065-"Protect Our Letter Carriers Act"-legislation that appropriates money to install high security collection boxes, replaces arrow key with an electronic version, appoints an assistant US attorney to coordinate and supervise the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed against postal employees, and amends sentencing guidelines to assaults and robberies against postal employees to be treated the same as an assault against law enforcement officers. The NRLCA endorsed this bill. S. 463-"Protect Our Letter Carriers Act"- Senate counterpart to H.R. 1065, the legislation that appropriates money to install high security collection boxes, replaces arrow key with an electronic version, appoints an assistant US attorney to coordinate and supervise the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed against postal employees, and amends sentencing guidelines to assaults and robberies against postal employees to be treated the same as an assault against law enforcement officers. H.R. 758-"Mail Traffic Deaths Reporting Act"-legislation that would require the USPS to issue regulations to mandate the collecting, tracking, and public reporting of information related to deaths and injuries resulting from traffic crashes involving vehicles transporting the mail. The NRLCA has not taken a position on this bill.

H.R. 1522-"Federal Retirement Fairness Act"-legislation that would allow federal and postal employees who spent time in a non-career or temporary status before becoming a regular to buy back their time from their non-career status. The NRLCA endorsed this legislation.

Labor Issues/Antitrust/Workplace

H.R. 2174-"Paycheck Protection Act"-legislation that would not allow unions to deduct labor organization dues, fees, or political contributions from employees' paychecks. The NRLCA opposes this legislation. S. 1006-"Federal Workforce Freedom Act"-legislation that would prohibit federal employees from organizing, joining, or participating in labor unions for the purposes of collective bargaining or representation. The NRLCA opposes this legislation.

Budget/Appropriations

H.Con.Res 14-establishes the congressional budget for the U.S. Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth appropriate budgetary levels for FY 2026-2034.
