● Outreach to NOAA on implementation of seafood EO and deregulatory agenda; attend and report to Client on NOAA Spring CCC meeting ● Advise Client on final rule publication related to USFWS on definitional change of squid as shellfish ● Provide Client with information/implications of S.4236 and gaining access to agriculture programs & advise on opportunities for 2026 Rural Business Development Grants; report on USDA seafood office creation ● Provide Client information related to final rule on Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Monument Executive Order & White House press event; continue to monitor the transfer of protected species management authority from NOAA to USFWS; inform Client on letter from Congress to NOAA on ropeless gear; advise on NOAAs new vessel speed rulemaking process; inform Client on status of HR 1897; review NOAA 2026 MMPA LOF for Client ● Continue to monitor federal agency activities, hearings and legislation (S.688 & S.1369) related to IUU fishing and forced labor in the seafood industry; advise Client on status of the Save Our Shrimpers Act
