Lobbying in support of legislation to improve veteran health care and benefit services for wounded, ill, and injured veterans including: S. 800 (Precision Brain Health Research Act) to improve biomarker research related to low-level blast exposure; S. 827 (Supporting Rural Veterans Access to Healthcare Services Act) to improve VAs Highly Rural Transportation Grant Program); S. 1383 (Veterans Accessibility Advisory Committee Act) to establish an Advisory Committee on Equal Access to evaluate and report on VA compliance with federal disability laws; H.R. 219 (Improving Menopause Care for Veterans Act) to study VA menopause care; H.R. 438 (PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act) to launch a VA grant program to support peer-to-peer mental health programs; H.R. 530/S. 201 (ACES Act) to improve toxic exposure research related to the military aviator community; H.R. 668/S. 506 (Coordinating Care for Senior Veterans and Wounded Warriors Act) to establish a pilot care to improve care coordination for veterans eligible for VA care and Medicare; H.R. 683 (Combat Veterans Pre-enrollment Act) to expedite enrollment in VA health care; H.R. 740/S. 275 (Veterans ACCESS Act) to improve access to VA mental health residential rehabilitation treatment programs; H.R. 965 (Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act) to exclude VA disability compensation from income calculation for certain housing programs; H.R. 1364 (Automotive Support Services to Improve Safe Transportation Act) to improve automobile adaptation services at VA; H.R. 1733/S. 784 (Rural Transportation to Care for Veterans Act) to expand grant funding for organizations providing transportation to veterans for health care appointments; H.R. 1971 (Veterans SPORT Act) to improve prosthetic services for veterans with recreational goals; H.R. 2102/S. 1032 (Major Richard Star Act) to allow concurrent receipt of VA and DoD benefits for veterans with combat-related injuries and medical retirement; H.R. 2148/S. 879 (Veteran Caregiver Reeducation, Reemployment, and Retirement Act) to assist caregivers with employment, training, and retirement goals; and H.R. 2623 (Innovative Therapies Center of Excellence Act) to create Centers of Excellence at VA to advance psychedelic-assisted therapy research.
