Enlisted Legal Assistance Act

This bill requires the Secretary of the department concerned to provide personal civil legal assistance to:

  • an active duty member of the Armed Forces in pay grades E-1 through E-5 and his or her dependents; and
  • a survivor who was a dependent of the member at the time of the member's death, except that survivor eligibility shall be determined pursuant to regulations prescribed by the Secretary concerned.
