Open and Transparent Smithsonian Act of 2016
(Sec. 2) This bill applies to the Smithsonian Institution the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Privacy Act, and current law relating to open meetings of government agencies.
(Sec. 3) This bill shall apply:
- with respect to the FOIA and the Privacy Act, to any records created by the Smithsonian Institution before, on, or after the enactment of this bill; and
- with respect to current law relating to open meetings of government agencies, to any meetings held by the Smithsonian Institution on or after the enactment of this bill.
