Work to keep insurance regulated by the states and not by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or set by international bodies. Support the Business of Insurance Act when reintroduced. Advocate for privacy measures in line with GLBA and HIPAA as applied to financial services. Support legislation of e-signatures, e-disclosures, and e-notarizations. Support the Improving Disclosure for Investors Act (HR 2441/S 1877), to provide electronic delivery of SEC regulatory documents, when reintroduced. Also support SECURE Notarization Act (HR 1777/S 1561), which authorize notaries to perform, and to establish minimum standards for, electronic notarizations and remote notarizations.

Oppose federal taxation of credit unions; work to exclude inclusion in H.R. 1. Oppose additional taxes on life insurers and property casualty insurers; work to exclude inclusion in H.R. 1. Support the Secure Family Futures Act (HR 2547/S1335), which provides for ordinary tax treatment for bonds for insurers.

Support the Improving Disclosure for Investors Act (HR 2441/S 1877), to provide electronic delivery of SEC regulatory documents, when reintroduced. Support the Retirement Fairness for Charities and Educational Institutions Act (HR 1013/S 424). Allows 403(b) retirement plans to invest in unregistered insurance contracts and CITs. Support the TRAPs Act (Task Force for Recognizing and Averting Payment Scams) (S 2019) and other legislation that protects consumers from payment scams and fraud.
