MS. MAISIE MCCORMACK
Lobbying for AMERICAN RARE EARTHS · Critical minerals exploration and extraction
Advocating for administrative and legislative permitting reforms to support domestic critical mineral supply chains, specifically focusing on expanding FAST-41 eligibility under S. 714 (the Critical Minerals and Materials Alignment Act), securing strategic defence carve-outs and long-term Advanced Market Commitments within the SECURE Minerals Act (S. 3659), aligning midstream and downstream magnet manufacturing legislation-including the Rare Earth Magnet Market Revitalization Act (H.R. 7563) and the Unearth Americas Future Act (H.R. 4350)-with secure domestic upstream feedstocks, and supporting a floor amendment to the FY2027 NDAA (H.R. 8800) to prioritise domestic mining assets to strengthen the defence industrial base and mitigate foreign dependency risks.
Advocating for legislative and policy measures to secure the defence industrial base and domestic supply chains for magnet-critical rare earth elements (Neodymium, Praseodymium, Dysprosium, Terbium), including proposed amendments to Title VIII of the FY2027 NDAA (H.R. 8800) to prioritise domestic upstream mining feedstocks for defence procurement; supporting S. 714 to align DOE and USGS critical mineral lists to fast-track permitting via FAST-41; reforming the SECURE Minerals Act (S. 3659) to establish strategic defence carve-outs and 15-year Advanced Market Commitments; and ensuring downstream magnet manufacturing initiatives-such as the Rare Earth Magnet Market Revitalization Act (H.R. 7563) and the Unearth Americas Future Act (H.R. 4350)-prioritise non-adversarial domestic feedstock anchors.
Advocating for legislative measures and bilateral trade policy enhancements to secure domestic critical mineral supply chains against foreign geopolitical manipulation and export restrictions; supporting S. 714 and the SECURE Minerals Act (S. 3659) to establish strategic defense carve-outs, 15-year Advanced Market Commitments, and domestic tiering systems that prevent US capital leakage to foreign processors; and promoting alignment with allied trade partners while advancing domestic upstream feedstock assets to eliminate foreign dependence for magnet-critical rare earths (Neodymium, Praseodymium, Dysprosium, Terbium) ahead of the statutory January 2027 defense procurement bans on foreign-adversary origin materials.
