H.R.8469 - Making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2027, and for other purposes. H.R.9260 - Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027 H.R.9495 - Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2027 Advocated for funding levels in FY27 appropriations bills: $51.303 billion for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for fiscal year (FY) 2027. In April joined with coalition partners on a Congressional letter requesting $90.47 Million for the NIEHS Superfund Program, including the SRP and WTP.These programs are housed in NIH. Supporting established funding levels for Medicare and Medicaid and protection of Medicaid's current financing structure. DoD- Working to ensure $1.626 billion in funding for the Congressionally Directed MS Research Program in FY 27. Specifically advocating for $22 million for the MS Research Program. In May, joined with coalition partners to thank SAC and HAC LHHS committees for including provisions aimed at safeguarding public health investments. Additionally joined with coalition partners on a letter to Defense committee leadership to increase funding for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) at the Department of Defense (DoD).

Medicare/Medicaid

H.R.1 - One Big Beautiful Bill Act Continued to advocate on H.R.1 implementation. Submitted and joined coalition comments to CMS on the proposed rule on Interoperability Standards and Prior Authorization for Drugs. The aimed looked to modernize prior authorization processes and improve interoperability across the healthcare system. Joined with coalition partners to respond to a pair of proposed Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and the impacts how it would impact how power seat elevation systems are covered under Medicare. In May, Joined a coalition letter to Congress requesting outreach to CMS to encourage the agency to rescind the Low Vision Aid Exclusion under the Medicare regulations.

Medical/Disease Research/Clinical Labs

H.R.1 - One Big Beautiful Bill Act H.R.7779 - Healthy Brains Act of 2026 H.R.9260 - Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027 Over the course of the last quarter joined with various coalition partners to advocate for NIH funding grants for medical research. Submitted comments to the National Institutes of Health on the agency's request for feedback on its Framework for the next NIH-Wide Strategic Plan.

Transportation

H.R. 9373: Air Carrier Access Amendments Act of 2026 S. 4829: Air Carrier Access Amendments Act In April joined with coalition partners a letter to the Department Of Transportation requesting updates on the status of DOTs implementation of the disability-related provisions of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 and urging DOT to meet the requirements specified by Congress.
