In Q4 of 2025, Upstream USA worked with Senator Maggie Hassan's office on S.3560 - Closing the Contraception Coverage Gap Act. This bill would require Medicare to cover contraception at no cost to the patient, aligning coverage standards with Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act and closing a known gap in contraception coverage for young and middle-aged women who experience long-term disabilities. Upstream USA has supported the office by articulating the need for the legislation, conceptualizing various elements of the legislation, providing edits on the bill text, elevating the issue and the bill as a solution to relevant committee leaders, and helping to secure co-sponsors.
