This bill would amend federal health insurance laws to require that health insurance plans cover medications used to treat autoimmune diseases and certain blood disorders. The bill modifies the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Public Health Service Act, and the Internal Revenue Code. It is currently in the early stages of the legislative process, having been referred to three House committees, Energy and Commerce, Education and Workforce, and Ways and Means, for review.
Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committees on Education and Workforce, and Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
