This resolution calls on the Taliban to immediately release George Glezmann (an American citizen wrongfully detained by the Taliban in Afghanistan since 2022) and all other American citizens and lawful permanent residents wrongfully detained in Afghanistan. The resolution also (1) urges the Taliban to respect George Glezmann's fundamental human rights and provide full, unfettered, and consistent health and welfare visits; and (2) condemns the Taliban’s practice of wrongful detention.
