This resolution prohibits Senators charged with crimes of unlawful disclosure of classified information, acting as a foreign agent, or compromising U.S. national security from receiving classified information. Specifically, such Senators may not

  • receive any classified information, including information provided to their personal office, to a congressional committee, or through a briefing of Senators;
  • serve on congressional committees;
  • submit a congressionally directed spending request for legislation; or
  • obligate official funds for international travel.
