No Photo for Food Act of 2023

This bill revises provisions related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to prohibit a state from requiring a photograph of any household member on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. Under current law, a state may require that an EBT card contain a photo of one or more members of a SNAP household.

As background, SNAP provides federally funded benefits (not the same as cash) on EBT cards to eligible households to purchase eligible food items from authorized retailers.
