Afghanistan Partnership and Transparency Act
This bill prohibits, until a specified report describing the impacts of the intended withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan is submitted to Congress, amounts appropriated for FY2020 or FY2021 from being obligated or expended for any activity having either of the following effects (1) reducing the total number of Armed Forces deployed to Afghanistan below the lesser of 8,000 or the total number deployed as of the enactment of this bill. or (2) reducing the total number of Armed Forces deployed to Afghanistan below 5,000.
Referred to the Committee on Armed Services, and in addition to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
