Demonstrating that Empowerment Makes Opportunities Act or the DEMO Act

This bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services to award grants supporting workforce development training to place individuals with a criminal record in health care occupations. States, tribal organizations, workforce development organizations, institutions of higher education, and specified health care facilities are eligible to apply for such funds. Applicants must submit a plan to recruit, train, and provide post-employment support to program participants, among other requirements.
