State of Modern Application, Research, and Trends of IoT Act or the SMART IoT Act

This bill requires the Department of Commerce to study the state of the internet-connected devices industry (commonly known as the Internet of Things or IoT) by (1) ascertaining which federal agencies have jurisdiction over entities in the industry, (2) describing such jurisdiction and agency expertise, and (3) surveying the entities to better understand their interaction with the relevant federal agencies.
