Affordable Insulin Act of 2019

This bill addresses the importation of insulin from Canada and other foreign countries.

The bill requires the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to promulgate regulations within 180 days permitting wholesalers, pharmacies, and individuals to import certain insulin from Canada. The FDA may also permit the importation of insulin from certain other countries under specified circumstances.

The bill also establishes a process for certifying licensed foreign pharmacies and foreign wholesale distributors.
