Safe Medications for Moms and Babies Act of 2016

This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to establish the Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant Women and Lactating Women to report on issues including: (1) the development of safe and effective therapies for such women, (2) ethical issues surrounding the inclusion of such women in clinical research, and (3) federal research activities regarding such women.

The Food and Drug Administration must report specified information including the number of new drugs approved based on research that included such women in clinical trials.
