Enhanced Rural Health Care Extension Act of 2009 - Amends the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 to extend from five to 10 years the Medicare rural community hospital demonstration program.
Requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to conduct the program in rural areas in the 15 states with the lowest population densities. Expands the number of hospitals selected from 15 to 30.
