Affordable Student Loans Act of 2001 - Amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to prohibit collection of: (1) origination fees under the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFEL program) and the Federal Direct Loan Program; or (2) insurance premiums under the FFEL program.

Allows any student loan guaranty agency or consortium of such agencies to enter into a voluntary flexible agreement with the Secretary of Education.
