Hospital Stay Protection Act - Amends the Public Health Service Act (PHSA) and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) to require group health plans and individual health insurance coverage to establish hospital lengths of stay based on a determination by an appropriate physician in consultation with the patient.
Amends the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 to require related and coordinated regulations under PHSA, ERISA, and the Internal Revenue Code.
