Medicare Amendments of 1993 - Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act with respect to: (1) essential access community hospitals; (2) Medicare-dependent, small rural hospitals; (3) payments for electrocardiogram interpretation and new physicians and practitioners; (4) prohibitions on carrier forum shopping; and (5) the treatment of nebulizers and aspirators.
Amends the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) of 1987 to reauthorize and extend the rural transition grant program.
Amends OBRAs of 1990 and 1994 to, respectively, provide for an extension of rural hospital demonstration projects and regional referral centers.
