Plain-English summary
Amends title XIX (Medicaid) of the Social Security Act to provide for mandatory coverage under State Medicaid plans of those services furnished by a certified nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist which are legally authorized to be performed by such practitioner or specialist, regardless of whether or not such services are performed under a physician's or other health care provider's supervision.
Defines "clinical nurse specialist" as an individual who has earned a master's degree in a clinical area of nursing from an accredited institution and who is a registered nurse licensed to practice nursing in the State in which the individual furnishes services.
