Government Issues

Oppose large-scale reductions in the federal workforce, urging Congress to take action to oppose publicly, support appropriations riders to block actions. Support adequate staffing levels for government agencies, and executive branch action consistent with congressional directives. Oppose cuts to earned federal retirement and health benefits via the budget reconciliation process, including by opposing H.Con.Res.14, and opposing inclusion of provisions related to federal benefits and the merit-based civil service in H.R. 1 (and opposing H.R. 1 when included) Support bipartisan agreement on government funding. Support S. 3012/H.R.7137/S.3168, the Shutdown Fairness Act, to pay federal employees during a lapse in appropriations. Support the True Shutdown Fairness Act, S. 3039/S.3165, to pay federal employees during a lapse in appropriations. Support the Military and Federal Employee Protection Act, S. 3043, to pay federal employees during a lapse in appropriations.
