Lobbying for INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS
The IBEW lobbied on general labor and workplace safety issues. The IBEW lobbied against a number of bills that would negatively impact IBEW members' rights in the workplace including but not limited to: Modern Worker Empowerment Act (S. 2228); Unlocking Benefits for Independent Workers Act (S. 2210); Flexibility for Workers Education Act (H.R. 2262) and Save Local Business Act (H.R. 4366).
IBEW advocated for the integration of systems and other items relating to rail safety.
The IBEW lobbied on H.R. 2671, the Tax Fairness for Workers Act, which seeks to restore the tax deduction for union dues and equipment that was eliminated by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017. The IBEW lobbied on protecting the tax treatment of healthcare, including opposing legislation that seeks to limit and harm employer-provided health insurance.
The IBEW lobbied on provider payment issues raised by the No Surprises Enforcement Act (S. 2420) The IBEW lobbied on ERISA preemption issues and other issues raised in the Patients Deserve Price Tags Act (S. 2355) and DOC Access Act (H.R. 1521)
The IBEW lobbied on DOD and federal worker issues related to IBEW members.
The IBEW lobbied on the Protecting Prudent Investment of Retirement Savings Act (H.R. 2988), Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025 (H.R. 3633), the GENIUS Act (S. 1582), and monitored legislation proposals seeking to annuitize defined-contribution employer retirement plans which could impact IBEW members' retirement investments.
