Automotive Industry

Preserving our members' global supply chains and their ability to import materials and machinery (natural rubber, grade 1080 and higher steel wire rod). These materials are crucial to make tires in the US as most tires contain 25% or more natural rubber, which is only produced in Southeast Asia, and the steel that is used in the production of tire cord and bead wire rod is not available from US sources of consistent quality and in volumes necessary to make todays high performance tires here in the US. Also pushing to eliminate outdated tire testing regulations and implementing a consumer information program with performance standards for tires; language included in FY2026 THUD funding bill.

Roads/Highway
