Farm Bill Nebraska Farm Bureaus Farm Bill priorities include the following: Protection of the federal crop insurance program. Oppose any tie and/or connection of climate focused practices to federal crop insurance programs including incentive programs. Reform USDA disaster programs to provide better flexibility in the event of natural disasters. Increase funding for the Foreign Market Development (FMD) program and Market Assistance Program (MAP). Maintain the current prioritization of the Environmental Quality Incentives Pro-gram (EQIP) funding being targeted to livestock producers. Ensure Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres are limited to marginal/highly erodible/non-productive land and cap rental rates. Livestock Supported S. 2019 and H.R. 4417, the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression Act which would prevent States and local jurisdictions from interfering with the production and distribution of agricultural products in interstate commerce.
Taxes Supported extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (TCJA) rates including the following: Reduced Pass-Through Tax Rates and Expanded Brackets New Sect. 199A 20 percent Business Income Unlimited Bonus Depreciation Doubled Estate Tax Exemption to $11 million person/$22 million couple indexed for inflation Increased Alternative Minimum Tax Threshold for Individuals
Trade/Tariffs Nebraska Farm Bureau strongly supports the expansion of trade with new trading partners around the world. Nebraska Farm Bureau also continues to advocate to Congress and the Administration that all efforts must be made to ensure farmers and ranchers dont bear the brunt of any prolonged trade war.
