Oppose Executive orders that removed authority from OFCCP, that improperly went after diversity, equity and inclusion programs, EEOC steps to try to compel employers to abandon DEI efforts, the EEOC's decision to stop following the law established by the Supreme Court in Bostock. Oppose nomination of Andrea Lucas for the EEOC.
Support efforts to raise the federal minimum wage and to expand coverage of the overtime laws to more workers. Weighed in on various nominations for positions at the Department of Labor, including opposing nomination of JOnathan Berry to be Solicitor of Labor. Worked with Senate offices to develop a bill to require paycheck transparency for gig workers. Opposed bills to provide safe harbor for platform companies providing portable benefits, and opposed bills that would make it easier to misclassify employees as independent contractors.
Advocate for the Unemployment Insurance Modernization and Recession Readiness Act. Worked with various agencies to make sure that fired federal workers were getting UI benefits. Met with DOL officials to discuss UI reform and recession readiness.
