CFI's Office of Public Policy lobbied against the "Free Speech Fairness Act" (HR 2501). This bill would allow churches and other houses of worship to endorse candidates for political office, essentially erasing the federal "Johnson Amendment." CFI views this as a grave threat to the separation of church and state.
