Firearms/Guns/Ammunition

Support continuing funding for firearm violence prevention research at CDC, NIH, NIJ.

Agriculture

Support child nutrition regulations and oppose efforts to weaken existing regulations. Oppose any cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Access Program and oppose restricting the program's eligibility. Support passage of a farm bill that strengthens the SNAP program, restores funding cut in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Urge Congress to deny the U.S. Department of Agricultures requested reorganization process, under the authority of Public Law 119-37. Oppose the Farm, Food and National Security Act of 2026.

Budget/Appropriations

Support at least $12 billion in funding for EPA in FY27. Support $310 million in funding for CDC tobacco prevention and cessation programs in FY27. Support $11.581 billion for CDC in FY 2027. Support $10.5 billion for HRSA in FY 2027. Support $35 million for CDC, $25 million for NIH, and $1 million for the National Institute of Justice to conduct public health research into firearm morbidity and mortality prevention. Support Medicaid program and oppose efforts to reduce federal funding to states. Oppose congressional efforts to reduce or eliminate funding through the Prevention and Public Health Fund. Support $420.85 million for CDC's National Center for Environmental Health in FY 2027. Support $100 million for the CDC's Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry in the FY 2027 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill.

Health Issues

Support Medicaid program and oppose cuts to benefits. Support reversal of cuts to Medicaid and the ACA in the OBBBA. Support the Protecting Free Vaccines Act. Support the Family Vaccine Protection Act. Support legislation to extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits. Support H.R. 8400, the Early Detection of Vision Impairments for Children Act.
