Directs the Secretary of Commerce to give adequate public notice of any intention to close or consolidate a weather service office. Sets forth factors the Secretary must consider in deciding to close or consolidate, including the effect on the community served and the economic savings to the National Weather Service.
Permits the appeal of a closing by any person served by the office to the Federal Committee for Meteorological Services and Supporting Research.
