This resolution expresses disapproval of the escalation of political tensions between the government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People's Liberation Front into armed conflict, and it urges all parties to the conflict to (1) cease all violence; (2) engage in mediation efforts to end the conflict; and (3) respect, promote, and protect the rights of all people in Ethiopia. Further, it urges relevant U.S. agencies to assist with achieving sustainable peace and to aid democratic transition in Ethiopia.
