This resolution calls on Turkey to eliminate all forms of discrimination and uphold international standards for human rights. The resolution also urges Turkey to (1) meet certain criteria prior to its accession into the European Union, and (2) recognize the Ecumenical Patriarchate of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
