Protecting American Consumers from Robocalls Act

This bill expands the private right of action that is available against telemarketers that call individuals who have registered their phone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. The bill permits bringing a lawsuit after receiving one such call, while current law requires at least two calls from the same telemarketer within a 12-month period before a lawsuit can be filed.
