SALT Relief and Marriage Penalty Elimination Act of 2019

This bill raises the cap on tax deductions for state and local taxes for taxable years 2018 through 2025. The bill increases the current $10,000 limit to make it equal to the standard deduction the applies for the taxpayer based on filing status.. (For 2019, the standard deduction is $12,200 for single taxpayers and married individuals filing separately, $24,400 for married couples filing jointly, and $18,350 for heads of households).
