Organic Farmer and Consumer Protection Act of 2018

This bill modifies Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements and procedures for imported organic agricultural products.

The bill modifies requirements and procedures regarding:

  • exclusions from certification;
  • documentation, traceability, and data collection;
  • the accreditation program;
  • the investigation process; and
  • data organization and access.

The bill also requires USDA and the Department of Homeland Security to jointly establish an interagency working group to facilitate coordination and information sharing regarding imports of organically produced agricultural products.
