Immigration Court Improvement Act of 2018

This bill expands the definition of "immigration judge" and the requirements applicable to such judges. Specifically, the bill requires that immigration judges have independent decision-making authority and prohibits discipline of such judges for good faith legal decisions. The bill also requires the Department of Justice to promulgate regulations to grant immigration judges contempt power.
