Coast Guard Academy Improvement Act

This bill addresses matters related to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, including to (1) establish a commission to assess the level of cultural competence within the academy; (2) mandate a recruitment and retention plan for the academy; (3) establish a minority outreach team program to recruit minority students to the academy; (4) establish a rotational research, development, and training program in cybersecurity for academy graduates and faculty; (5) require the Coast Guard to select half of each academy class from a specific pool; and (6) authorize the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative program for certain undergraduate students to enlist and receive a guaranteed commission as an officer in the Coast Guard.
