Curtailing Lobbying and Empowering Americans for a New Politics Act of 2018 or the CLEAN Act of 2018
This bill modifies various lobbying restrictions and requirements.
Among other things, the bill does the following:
- broadens the scope of lobbying activities that trigger registration and disclosure requirements,
- limits bundled campaign contributions by lobbyists,
- prohibits congressional candidates from soliciting campaign contributions from lobbyists while Congress is in session, and
- requires certain agents of foreign commercial entities to register as lobbyists.
