Curtailing Lobbying and Empowering Americans for a New Politics Act of 2018 or the CLEAN Act of 2018

This bill modifies various lobbying restrictions and requirements.

Among other things, the bill does the following:

  • broadens the scope of lobbying activities that trigger registration and disclosure requirements,
  • limits bundled campaign contributions by lobbyists,
  • prohibits congressional candidates from soliciting campaign contributions from lobbyists while Congress is in session, and
  • requires certain agents of foreign commercial entities to register as lobbyists.
