Bail Fairness Act of 2018

This bill requires a state that receives funding under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program to restrict the use of money bail for individuals arrested for misdemeanors. The Department of Justice may reduce by up to 20% the JAG allocation of a state that fails to comply with the restrictions.
