Protecting Communities from Lost or Stolen Law Enforcement Weapons Act of 2017

This bill amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to modify requirements under the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program. Specifically, it authorizes the Department of Justice to give preference to a COPS program grant applicant from a state that requires law enforcement agencies to report officers' lost or stolen firearms to the National Tracing Center of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
