Florida Coastal Protection Act

This bill amends the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to prohibit the Secretary of the Interior from offering any tract located in the following areas for either oil and gas leasing or preleasing:

  • the Eastern Gulf of Mexico that is referred to in the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act of 2006,
  • the portion of the South Atlantic Planning Area south of 30 degrees 43 minutes North Latitude, or
  • the Straits of Florida Planning Area.
