Homestake Mine Conveyance Act of 2001 - Prescribes procedural guidelines for the conveyance of certain portions of the Homestake Mine to the State of South Dakota, including assumption of liability by the United States for specified damages, reclamation, and hazardous substance response.

Requires the State of South Dakota to establish an Environment and Project Trust Fund to pay for designated expenses including environmental cleanup, remediation, and hazardous substance removal.

States that this Act shall be effective contingent upon the selection of the Mine by the National Science Foundation as a national underground scientific laboratory site.
