Regulatory Improvement Act of 1998
Regulatory Improvement Act of 1997 - Provides for the analysis of major regulatory rules by Federal agencies. Sets forth provisions regarding: (1) principles for risk assessments; (2) peer review; (3) deadlines for rule making; (4) judicial review; and (5) guidelines, interagency coordination, and research.
Mandates a comparative risk analysis study.
Requires certain agency heads to establish advisory committees for the review of rules.
Directs the: (1) President to establish a process for the review and coordination of Federal agency regulatory actions; and (2) Director of the Office of Management and Budget to establish procedures for public and agency access to information concerning regulatory review actions.
